Falla hepática aguda inducida por micetismo: una revisión narrativa

Resumen
La ingesta accidental de hongos es una causa infrecuente pero grave de falla hepática aguda, especialmente cuando están involucrados hongos del género Amanita. Estos contienen toxinas ciclopeptídicas, como la falotoxina y la amatoxina, que inhiben la acción de la RNA polimerasa II, bloqueando la síntesis de proteínas y provocando necrosis celular. Las manifestaciones clínicas son variables, desde cuadros asintomáticos hasta falla orgánica múltiple y muerte. El tratamiento actual se basa en medidas de soporte, ya que no existe un manejo específico universalmente aceptado.
