Abstract
The undescended testicle (UDT) or cryptorchidism is the most common testicular anomaly in newborns and its classification and diagnosis is frequently delayed. It encompasses a series of varied anatomical presentations for different causes that are not completely understood. Its classification depends on the time of appearance, its location, laterality and morphology. The diagnosis of UDT is made in a clinical manner based on an adequate clinical history and physical examination of the patient during the first 6 months of life, using radiological imaging methods only on suspicion of severe pathologies of sexual differentiation disorder.
