Abstract

Objectives: To determine user satisfaction with the Gynecology teleconsultation at the Hospital Militar Escuela Dr. Alejandro Dávila Bolaños (HMADB), Managua, Nicaragua, in the year 2022.

Materials and methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational, cross-sectional study was conducted with 218 patients attended by teleconsultation in the Gynecology service of the HMADB from November to December 2022. A 16-question online questionnaire was applied to obtain the sociodemographic data of the patients, the level of satisfaction with the teleconsultation and to assess the factors affecting the same. Results: The average age of the patients was 36 years. The overall satisfaction rate of the patients was 92.66% and 91.7% of the patients would recommend it. Data analysis using Wilks' Lambda statistical test and binary logistic regression related the highest degree of satisfaction with the recommendations received (λ=0.563, p<0.05), perceived safety (λ=0.313,p<0.05 ) and resolution of doubts (λ=0.375). Physician identification, treatment received, referral, duration of teleconsultation, teleconsultation schedule, information received, time and money saved were not identified as determinants of satisfaction (λ=0.000,p>0.005).

Conclusions: There is a high level of satisfaction with the HMADB gynecology teleconsultation, with the main determinants of satisfaction being the recommendations received and the perceived safety during the teleconsultation. Health systems should take these factors into account when designing their teleconsultation programs.
